Our journey
FORTH was founded in Perth, Australia in 2015 out of a desire to get back to the basics of high quality, design led engineering –simply ‘to do more engineering’.
With a focus on enabling the visions of clients and architects though innovative design and director involvement at all stages, the practice has grown steadily to now comprise more than 50multi-disciplinary engineers and designers across Perth and London.
Forth’s London studio opened in 2026 as a response to clear opportunity in the market to provide the same level of service in the UK that had led to the success in Australia. The UK leadership team has been heavily involved in the delivery of some of the UK and Europe’s most exciting building projects over the past two decades while sharing the Australian offices practical mindset to solving the biggest problems our clients face, with energy and enthusiasm.
At FORTH we don’t just tick the boxes, we look to improve the good and tackle the risks head on. We know what our clients need from an engineer and our attitude toward engagement, risk, cost, opportunity and compliance demonstrate this on all our projects.
What Drive Us
Our engineering is shaped by a conviction that technical decisions should serve the architectural intent and simplify construction, not work against it. We bring a deep understanding of structural form, materials science and construction methodology to every project – collaborating closely with architects and project teams to deliver buildings that are elegant, efficient and constructable.
Integrated delivery
FORTH provides all building engineering disciplines within a single coordinated team. On multi-discipline commissions, our structural, civil and building services engineers work from a shared model, participate in the same design reviews and report to one project lead.

Client outcomes
We work closely with architects, developers, builders and project managers to resolve both the technical and commercial dimensions of each project – structural efficiency, material optimisation, buildability, programme and cost. Our approach is to understand the project's constraints early and provide clear, well-reasoned engineering advice that enables informed decisions.
The strength of this approach is reflected in a client base defined by trust. Across thousands of projects to date, our portfolio ranges from heritage fitouts to the $320M WA Schools PPP programme – with the same discipline and quality of service applied irrespective of scale.
Design-led engineering
Our practice is design-driven, with a focus on finding solutions that support the architectural vision. This requires early engagement, clear communication and responsiveness as the design develops. We present options with real data allowing the development of – comparative tonnages, cost implications, programme impacts – so that design decisions are made on an informed basis.
Our digital workflows support this approach. A single coordinated model carries through from concept into construction, and interoperability between analysis and modelling platforms enables rapid testing of alternative schemes. When the design changes – and it always does – our engineering adapts without rebuilding from scratch.
Senior-led project delivery
Every FORTH project is led by a director or senior engineer who maintains involvement from inception through to completion. This ensures technical continuity across all design stages, consistent communication with the project team and clear accountability for the engineering outcomes. Our senior team maintains hands-on project involvement alongside their leadership responsibilities – providing the technical depth and responsiveness that complex projects demand.
